Welcome to the Bioinformatics Club

Welcome to the Winter 2012 Undergraduate Bioinformatics Club of the University of Waterloo. Bioinformatics is a program here at the University that encompasses courses in math, biology, computer science, chemistry and, of course, bioinformatics. It also offers a co-op program where students have a chance to learn bioinformatics hands-on at many different labs.

As the program is one of the smaller programs at Waterloo, one of our main goals is try to connect students of the bioinformatics program as well as students from related programs and faculties. Some of the popular events BIC holds are prof-talks and trips to Toronto for lab tours. This year, we’re looking to start up a seminar series where we’ll have our very own club members give talks about work they’ve done during their work terms and summers. We also hold social events like Board Game Nights and Science Movie Nights (some of our favourites are X-Men and The Island). We're always looking for new members, so please don't hesitate and come check our club out!

Our website was recently updated, and will continue to undergo updates through-out the term. Please feel free to browse through some of our newer sections, including BIC people, useful resources, and our photos.
